Bay Rivers Art Guild 2011 Juried Show

I entered three paintings in BRAG's  show and all three were accepted! Here is one of them.
I painted this scene from a photo I took last September while on a hiking adventure in Yosemite.
As many of you know, I have a story for every painting.
Early one morning we were driving through the valley to get to our trailhead for that day. In a very wooded section where nothing but big tree trunks were in view, I asked Taylor to pull over to the side of the road. I grabbed my camera and walked down to find the bank of the Merced River. I am not sure why I even asked Taylor to stop, I just had a feeling. When I found the shore line I looked up to find this incredible view of El Capitan!

  1. Colette, Taylor gave me your blog info. The whole blog is wonderful and your paintings are fabulous! I was at El Capitan many, many years ago. Your painting is just as breathtaking as the mountain itself! Susan Santoli
